What is Radish LIVE?
Radish LIVE is an interactive chat room that is open for only 3 hours after you publish a new episode. It will disappear after the 3 hours are up. Only users who have read the most recent episode can access Radish LIVE. Although it is optimal to use the Episode Scheduler for Radish LIVE, manually published episodes will also trigger the Radish LIVE chat room.
Note: There is one chat room per episode per story.
As you create a new episode, you will have the chance to modify and add questions for when the episode publishes and its chat room goes LIVE. We recommend filling out all of the topics and varying them from episode to episode. Turn your Scheduler ON to have a regular schedule for your chat rooms to open. All your subscribers will receive a notification 30 minutes after your episode publishes that the chat room is available. (And they’ll get another push 15 minutes before it closes!)
Pro tip: Transcripts from every chat room will be available in Writer’s Web after it expires.
Joining the chat once it goes LIVE
After your episode publishes, the chat room will open. You must join the chat via the Radish app with your writer account. There will be prompts to join on the story's landing page and at end of the new episode. Another place you can join the chat is through your Library by clicking on the Radish LIVE chat icon.
Once you enter the chat, you will be invisible (your icon will be grayed out!) Writers can lurk and read the chat or join! If you’d like to, click “JOIN” at the bottom of the page.
Clicking join will light up your icon notifying readers in the chat that you’re there. All of your subscribers will also get a push notification that you’ve joined! Say hello and participate in the chat!
In the chat itself, you can tag readers in your replies by 1) tapping on their username or 2) typing the username out. Any mentioned reader will get a push notification that you have responded to them. If the reader left the chat, they can tap the notification to return—they won’t miss your response!
